Finestrat is one of the towns in the province of Alicante that unites the very essence of the region in its municipal area: sea and mountains.
It is Spain’s only village that has a mountain location plus a beach miles below on the coast. Finestrat was given the beach by the Spanish government for its generations of work helping save that area of Spain from pirates.
La Cala de Finestrat, (the Beach) is just a short 15 minute drive, the wonderful sandy beach area of Finestrat is ideal for families, with many beach side cafes
La Cala Markets – Tuesday, By the bay, near the SuperCor supermarket and Friday, On the main road into the town, opposite MABS charity shop.
If you prefer a little quieter setting, walk from the cafe area to the right side of the beach and, from there, you will find a small path around the headland where you can enjoy some fresh sea air, and take lovely photos of Benidorm and the surrounding Mediterranean area.
To get to know the historical heritage of the town, visitors can follow the route "Discover Finestrat", a leisure and cultural route made up of 14 information panels located in such emblematic places as:
El Castell,The Plaça del Poble,La Torreta Square,The Church of San Bartolomé and The Chapel of Santo Cristo del Remedio, in El Castell.
The Gran Bali Hotel, (Europe’s tallest hotel 43 floors, 186m high) is worth the visit, it does not cost a lot to go to the viewing platform and the views are spectacular.
Finestrat Castle is a beautiful garden park because there are no longer visible remains of the castle. In the park, you’ll find an auditorium, hermitage, and two stunning viewpoints – one over the Mediterranean Sea, and the second over Puig Campana mountain.
Go Karting - have some fun on racing tracks
