Benejúzar is located on the right bank of the Segura River, in the heart of the Vega Baja, preferably dedicated to the cultivation of citrus fruits, especially lemons, and the production of garlic is also important.
It is a quiet city of more than five thousand inhabitants, where we can enjoy hiking in its mountains and in the thickets of the Segura River, resulting from its channeling and which today are recreational areas.
Benejúzar has a natural area of Mediterranean forest repopulated with native vegetation.
Its municipal area borders those of Algorfa, Almoradí, Jacarilla and Orihuela.
You can visit the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, from the first half of the 19th century, and walk through its square and most central streets. It also has a more recent hermitage whose curious fact is that it was built in just one week.
The natural heritage of Benejúzar is very attractive, so on your visit do not forget your walking boots as the Sierra de Benejúzar awaits you. There you can climb different peaks almost 200 m high, such as Cabezo de los Mozos or Redondo or Alto de la Escotera. The routes are very easy and anyone can do them! Thus, they are perfect for walking with the little ones. Recreational and leisure areas have been created with a hostel, a camping space, a nature classroom and even places where you can cook a barbecue and sit down to eat. A great plan after a hike in the mountains!
There is a major carnival for everyone to enjoy in February and in October, you can enjoy their pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen del Pilar. Both are great fun for adults and children!
The town has all the essential shops with numerous supermarkets, doctors etc.
The weekly market in Benejúzar is every Friday, in Plaza de España.
