Santiago de la Ribera is on the Mar Menor, on the coast of Murcia and is the most populated district of the municipality of San Javier.
It has 4 kilometers of beach, including Castillico , Barnuevo and Colón certified with the Q for Tourist Quality. Its Mediterranean waters are ideal for enjoying the sun, sea and water sports all year round. It has an attractive, palm-lined promenade that runs the length of the beach.To the north, it limits with the districts of Lo Pagán and Los Sáez, belonging to the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar and to the south with Los Narejos, of the municipality of Los Alcazares.There is a good bus services and the nearest train station is Balsicas-Mar Menor, located in Balsicas (Torre-Pacheco)
There is a weekly market held every wednesday,The nearest shopping center is in San javier,which also has an out of town retail park and a large indoor shopping mall and leisure complex which features a multi-screen cinema, bowling centre and numerous high street fashion shops, electrical superstores and a hypermarket.
From the Marina you can also take a boat trip around the calm waters of the Mar Menor or a ferry across to the Tomas Maestre Marina located at La Manga Strip on the opposite side of the bay.
