The district of Gea and Truyols is located in the extensive area that is traditionally known as the “Murcian countryside”, at an average altitude of 185 m above sea level,

The origin of the place name of the town of Gea y Truyols dates back to a common historical situation in the towns of Campo de Murcia, the existence of small dispersed hamlets that already dotted this territory during the Middle Ages.

Gea and Truyols is part of a conglomerate of farms and places, Lo Gea, El Caracolero and La Tercia which is the main nucleus of Gea and Truyols.

The large countryside area of Gea and Truyols extends at the foot of the Columbares and El Garruchal mountain ranges, landscapes where the low Mediterranean forest of xerophytic species also shows important coniferous formations between trails and forest roads.

The village has a couple of bars serving food, doctors, hairdresser, pharmacy an Ice Cream parlour, tobacconist, and a great little family run shop
